Ever thought how clubbing is like a good workout? No? Maybe you should. The King of clubs, Ministry of Sound has developed “Ministry Does Fitness” at The Arches. The gym follows the Ministry’s immersive clubbing experience, specialised playlists and lighting with a sound system to match. The unique concept, location and specialist classes required bespoke equipment and flooring solutions and EXF Fitness were the perfect fit.
“We’re ripping up the rule book” explained Olivia Brafman, Ministry Does Fitness General Manager “We have created a new experience, balancing the gym with socialising in The Arches connected spaces. Our mantra ‘Be Good to Be Bad’ means work hard play hard. We required equipment and flooring that could cope with weights, functional and cardio use, often all at the same time.” Olivia continued “We needed it to be easy to clean and maintain. The solutions they provided met our safety, functionality and design needs.”
EXF Fitness recommended and installed Ecore Everlast Roll and Speed & Agility Turf laid on top of the Ecore 10mm rubber underlay. This offered a multi-functional surface with ideal grip and stability as well as providing excellent absorption of sound and impact. Made from recycled rubber the
Everlast Roll also met the ethical and environmental requirements the Ministry Does Fitness requested their products to reach. The Speed & Agility turf supplied the perfect hard-wearing surface for agility and sledging exercises. It completed the design theme being supplied in jet black with white lining and logo.
The design was bespoke from start to finish. Equipment and storage was manufactured on site at EXF to match the spaces constraints, specific use and design specifications. From suspension training frames, to specialist storage and urban design plyometric boxes, every inch was made to measure.
EXF Fitness Operations Manager, Jack Burch, said “It’s been an amazing experience to work with a world-renowned brand on this highly innovative fitness concept. We specialise in innovative design, manufacture and installations. This provided the perfect solutions for the Ministry of Sounds’ new concept. All equipment and flooring was installed by our specialist team who are used to working on bespoke and exciting projects like this one.” Set to be another Ministry of Sound success story, EXF Fitness is proud to be part of their new venture from the start.
