A £25k calisthenics park has opened on Windsor Lawns on the Esplanade on Worthing Seafront showcasing some of the most exciting calisthenics equipment in the UK.

Worthing Borough Council tendered for a provider to create an outdoor calisthenics park following pressure from local residents.  Calisthenics UK won the tender and worked in partnership with EXF Fitness to fulfil the brief.

Calisthenics has grown tremendously in popularity but is a highly technical and specialist sport so having the right equipment is crucial. Equipment for the Worthing park was designed by Calisthenics UK in conjunction with World Class Calisthenics Athlete Stephen Hughes-Landers. The suppliers were also tasked with creating a park which offered a total body workout and contained as wide a variety of equipment as possible.

The park, which took just three weeks to install, includes a large rig with a flag ladder, parallel bars, monkey bars and pull up bars of varying heights. There is also an ab bench, plyo boxes and low parallel bars.

The equipment is made from 100% British steel and was manufactured in the UK by EXF Fitness. All the bars have been zinc plated to ensure longevity. The rig was produced in grey to complement the existing outdoor gym equipment on the neighbouring plot.

The park opened in late December and despite the wintery weather is already receiving dozens of visitors a day.
